Bottle Tree Park

We finally found the time to visit a park we view from the train while tooing and froing.
The park always looks busy and interesting.
We caught the train down to Khatib and decided to walk in through the side gate. This was beside an HDB (like our housing corp flats) and then through a small park. It was a pleasant enough walk until we came to a group within this area that looked like they were having a misunderstanding. We had no choice but to walk through them...it was a bit scary but we were fine.
We finally found the side entrance and this is sign outside. This tree show why it is called Bottle Tree Park!
There are a number of restaurants in the area...we were between times so did not get to try any of them. Walking around we found some small ponds where people were fishing for prawns...which they then had cooked for them. You pay for this privilege. There was also a pond where children could fish for some little guppie type fish that they could take home for their own tank.
It had been raining just before we got to the park and the lily pads had droplets of water all over them.
Waiting for the bus to take us to Ikea I snapped this shot of the train passing. We usually try and get near a window so that we can see the view of the park and the reservoir on the other side.
The bus too us to Tampines and we then took the free bus to Ikea where we had dinner for under $20 and that included coffee and sprite. We then wandered around Ikea and dreamt what we would like to have in our place. Its a wonderful place to shop and dream.
